What to buy for a home cocktail kit

Start with a cocktail you want to make, then buy its ingredients. You do not need a bottle of every spirit.

For a gin and tonic: choose a gin such as Sundown Original Dry Gin and a tonic such as Alchemy & Tonic Indian Tonic. Add ice and citrus.

For vodka cocktails: STIL Original Vodka and Coast Road Vodka are unflavoured options. Choose a flavoured vodka only when you want that flavour in the finished drink.

For a Margarita: you need tequila, orange liqueur and lime. Saturdays Triple Sec is the orange liqueur; buy the tequila separately, subject to availability.

For a ready-made cocktail: choose a BATCHED bottle. A shaker, ice and a cocktail glass are enough to prepare it.

A measuring jigger, shaker and strainer cover many shaken recipes. Use a spoon and mixing glass for stirred cocktails.
